Message from Austria to Master
There are no immediate threats against me, which is rare for Austria this
eary in the game. Italy could of course attack me next year, if he gets
frustrated about not getting any quick gains with his Lepanto. Actually, I
think that is what I would do if I were playing Italy...
Russia is under pressure in the north, and England could walk into Stp if he
wants to. I hope he does, but I do not think so since he seems to be facing
an FG alliance and desperately needs an ally.
What I would like to do this year and next is to take Rum+Bul and somehow
keep Italy happy. It is also important to keep Russia at 0 builds, so I need
to attack Rum first. The question is if I should attack from Gal or Ser. The
safer choice is to attack from Ser -- if I attack from Gal, Turkey might
stop me by making Bul-Ser. Also, having an army in Gal keeps the pressure on
Russia. OK, Ser-Rum with double support it is. The most interesting thing
about the fall is what Italy does with his army in Tun. I hope it stays
there, and I really don't want to see it in Albania...

Tough call. AI vs RT, Russia going after Germany, French undecided but not
looking at a quick build.
I like a fight, if I dont intervene then Germany will be divided between
France and Russia.
On the other hand Russia will no doubt sway my way once Germany falls, he
and France will no doubt come to blows in germany.
Germany wont be able to build, I have a guranteed build from STP. Sweden is
50/50.
A german disband will speed things up a little but for now I dont see France
heading east via the MED.
The east looks interesting, I see a possible tun - gre with gre moving to
aeg with eas support.
I could go for sweden and stp. I am working out what to do as I go along at
the moment, its still early days.
I feel that BUR may support SIL - MUN, this would give Russia a build. If I
mean to attack him then I dont want him gaining a build. France is the pain
in the neck I could do without right now. If he is to continue to be a
threat then I will need a build and some fleet movements south.
Russia has clearly indicated an alliance, should I jump at it, he may lose
RUM or WAR if he gambles incorrectly.
On the other hand if I stick with him then he will be more than pleased to
keep the alliance going until his problems in the south are sorted out.
France does seem to be setting himself up for a convoy and did indicate bel
support hol.
I think I will play safe and go for sweden and denmark, best try and keep
russia as a friend for the future until i am sure what france is up to.
Message from France to Master
OK, so Germany and England call off their attack. Italy goes Lepanto. Now I
have no enemies :-)
But who should I attack? I want ot move against England, but if I do so I
will be alone. Germany is in no posiiton to help. And England is going to have a
build this year - maybe two. (I would like to order mao-iri, and if England
wasn't likely to have a build, I would do this).
I think I'll take ENG and ruh, as well as "support" Germany.
Burning the candle at both ends is a bit dangerous - but England will have
some doubts about whether I am attacking him or not, and maybe will not build in
Lvp.
Message from Germany to Master
Well, Russia retreats to try to kill me or something. I dunno. The boy is
playing like a nutjob. His loss.
Expecting England to go for Stp with an army, and figuring that EF have
formed a team, I will have to do the following:
Bal s Kie->Ber
Kie->Ber
Mun s Kie->Ber
Den h
Hol s Bel
Basically retake Berlin. Russia has hosed my game through no real fault of
my own (you cannot say that moving to Den in Spring '01 is a TOTALLY hostile
German..esepcially when supports Russian in FALL!). England did not take my
cues to go at France. France is an unknown quantity but doesn't look all
that friendly to me. So, lets just make Russia pay this point, unless
something else comes of it.
If England dislodges Den, maybe he had the brains to move to open Stp. Then
again, maybe he holds out on that until next year. If he moves to Stp, then
I retreat to Swe. If he didn't well.....this game has been kind pointless
since russia played so horrible. Personally I'd move to Sweden if I were
England....so what if we bounce. Germany gets completely hosed, I get my
build and Swe/Stp are still open NEXT year.
England is going to run away with this game, unless France moves on him. I
don't see that happening.
With any luck Austria will make a move on russia too, and Russia can find
the grave he so richly deserves.
Message from Italy to Master
I already sent the comment for this move prior to the retreat. (I had
forgotten the retreat and had tried to submit my orders, also).
Message from Russia to Master
Well, we come to a crossroads. I get to keep berlin,
but it seems likely that I lose rumania. If england moves to
Norway, then the game is probably over for me soon. I
feel bad for turkey, but he has to guard against the lepanto.
If/when rumani falls, he is close behind. If I can make an
alliance with england, as I attempted to do with berlin s norwy-kie,
then I can maybe establish a northern outpost and continue
to attack austria/italy from there.
Message from Turkey to Master
*sigh* I don't think there's much I can do to survive now. England has run off,
Russia is weak, and Italy and Austria are working together very well. I guess
this is why I don't really like playing Turkey in NoPress.
But still, Italy won't be able to convoy to Syria now, although he will be able
to help Austria or himself into the Aegean.
Since I expect he will support himself into the Aegean, I will support Austria
into the Aegean, and move Bulgaria down to Greece. If Italy does attack with
support, this will bounce him. If he decides to support Austria, then there's
nothing I could have done anyway.
My other massive risk will be to vacate Smyrna, in the hope that I might get to
build a new fleet if things go incredibly well. I doubt they will go that well,
because I expect I'll bounce with Serbia in Greece. But it's worth the risk I
think. I imagine the other players will see what I've done and assume I've gone
mad, but if I'm still around in a few years' time, then I'll be able to prove
myself then.
