Message from Austria to Master
Moving as Italy has done in the last year, back and forth, is not something
you like your ally to be doing in a nopress game. It is telling me that he
is thinking about stabbing me. Therefore, I do not think I am going to
accept his support for Gre-Aeg in the spring, because I am pretty convinced
that he would put an Italian unit in Greece next fall if I did.
The Turkish player has made som "irrational" moves lately. He seems to be on
Italy's and my side, by supporting me into Sev and even willing to give up
his own centers to Italy, and that would definitely help us. If Italy can
gain one or two of the Turkish centers, he will hopefully not try to attack
*me*.
This winter there is not much to think about. Vie-Tri did not bounce, so all
I can do is to build another army. I would probably have built an army
anyway.
Message from France to Master
What now? I get my wish, and England offers a (small) olive branch.
If I build a fleet in Mar then I Italy gets worried. I really don't need an
unhappy Italy right now. So the options are an army (anywhere), or a fleet in
Bre.
The nice thing about a fleet in Brest is that I can guarantee to convoy
gas-mao-nat-cly. SO tempting. If only the Italian army wasn't in pie (since my army
in gas is the only unit able to cover mar).
I'm not inclined to try anything against Germany. He will likely have Russia
off his back, and his 3 units will keep at least 2 English units occupied
defending swe/den. I don't think he will try to attack me (yet).
So, fleet bre it is then. Decide about the convoy later.
(Though I'm just kidding myself. I won't be able to resist the temptation -
pic-bur, and hope Italy doesn't try for mar).
The Austrian army in tri should help to keep the Italian honest - he will
surely just cover ven? (Though he might order apu-ven, ion-aeg, eas s ion-aeg, in
which case what is there for pie to do except . . . )
I'm simply justifying my convoy in advance in case it goes wrong!
