Message from Austria to Master
This will certainly be an interesting mid-game! When I play Austria, I am
quite happy if I just survive 1904 with four or five centers. After that, in
mid-game and end-game, Austria is a wonderful country to play. Now I will be
at eight, or even nine, centers after the fall, and I do not see any threats
at all. Turkey is suicidal, Russia is under a lot of pressure, Italy is not
getting anywhere but seems to be happy anyway, and none of the western
powers is making any progress (this year). The biggest long-term threat is
France who has a strong position. Hopefully my friend Italy will put
pressure on him soon. I am making Gre C Pie-Mar to encourage him. I am also
making Con S Apu-Smy (as I more or less "promised" with Gre C Apu-Smy in the
spring) to keep him happy.
I hope that Turkey will repeat his support for Rum-Sev this fall. He has
made it twice in a row, and hopefully he is not going to change it and
support Ukr-Sev now, although that is what I ordered in the spring. It is a
pure guessing game, but hopefully he understands that I could not make
Rum-Sev in the spring, because Rum would have been empty and the Russian
fleet would have been in Bla. I am using Ukr to cut support from Mos, which
means that Rum-Sev is guaranteed to succeed if I get support from Turkey.

Hmmm interesting. So far France has only ordered moves which have a 100%
success rate guranteed.
Thats why I was quite surprised to see him not support the convoy last turn.
I have to destroy the army, there is a safe way and a risky way. I will take
the safe way ;-)
It will however open up possibilities for Germany.

My army in cly is looking lost. So I will not waste moves trying to save it.
I'm now gambling that England will order IRI-ENG, hoping to keep me out, and
will not order NWG-NTH. In that case, ensuring ENG will give me a convoy to
Lon next year.

Well Russia continues to be a twit. Pull off my borders and we can do
something here..stay on them and we both go down.
So in light of that, I have to do the bounce over Mun again. The fleet on
the other hand will head to Sweden, in case he moves his Denmark fleet out
to Nth and Swe into Den. Otherwise France is going to eat him alive in Eng
and eventually Nth WILL fall.

Time to try to get the troops ashore again. Hope it works, but f aeg - con
(cutting Austrian support) and a self bounce in smy dooms the effort. Was
glad to see Austria still moving east, worried he might come my way. I will
attempt MAR this turn, since that will be my next direction after Turkey.
He is vulnerable and may get greedy and go for MUN.

So, even as he goes down, the turk tries in vain
to please the austrians. Hey, look in the dictionary
under the definition of doesn't get it and see if you
recognize yourself. Slowly bleeding here. Still
wouldn't be surprised to see russia get supported into
sevastopol. Hold out as I can, and still give germany nothing.
Hey, maybe I'll even make my retreats interesting. What
