The 1907 Symposium on Philosophy, Europe and Everything
will be postponed until Winter. In fact, we will be
moving the symposia permanently to that time of year.
Bascially we are struggling to find a commentator with
all the sporting events going on right now (Football,
Basketball, Hockey, Baseball).

Ali,
Assuming that you retreat to Sevastopol, please give some thought to
Sevastopol->Moscow in the fall. That is certain to succeed, whereas trying
to save Bulgaria is guesswork, perhaps worse than 50-50. Russia will
definitely be using Warsaw to cut Silesia, so that he can take Berlin.
Whether or not you think this would be in your best interest I leave to
you, but if you do move to Moscow I would be very, very grateful.
I do see that it is getting tight over there. I was hoping that you would
be able to remain stronger than it appears that you will be. I still think
that there is an excellent chance that this will come down to you, me, and
France. If so, your bargaining position will be quite strong and, if you
ally with me or France (me, please), your ally should help you grow.
I would be appreciative if you could give me advance warning of whether or
not you will use Sevastopol to attempt a defense against Italy or use it to
grab Moscow. Your decision probably will affect my moves.

I have entered my retreat order to Sev. Unless something new develops, I
agree to attack Moscow per your request. I would definitely like to see you
succeed in balancing French growth. I assume the move to Bel was made with
his blessing?
Any new word on Italy's threat to change course should France take Italian
home centers? I am, of course, urging France to take Rome as well as Naples
this year.

Congratulations on your steady advances against Italy. I will hold out as
long as I can, and will fight to the last man. As long as I can hold onto my
home centers, I've got a chance for a comeback. My only hope is that once you
have the Italian centers, he can be eliminated from the game and I can finally
regrow.
