YES!!! Gentlemen, thank you for listening to my suggestions. I overlooked
the possibility of Den-Kiel cutting Kiel S Ska-Den, but it was sweet to see.
For the Fall, Kie S Pru-Ber, War-Sil, Pie-Tyl, Ruh S Bur-Mun, Nwy-Swe,
Nth-Den, will eliminate Fredd, unless he orders Sil-Boh and/or Ska-Nwy.
Fredd is unlikely to issue either of those orders, but I think Nwy S
Edi-Nth,
Nth-Hel is probably the better bet. Opinions?
Your Happy Friend,
Nick.

Sounds good, except for the fact that I'm in War and Pru, now, and
France is in Nap, and will take Rome, and possibly Ven this Fall.

I was glad to do my part to help reduce Germany to almost
nothing. Your are also welcome for following your
suggestions. But only this once ;-) :-)
I think that Germany may survive with one unit this year,
around Ska. It is probably best to make our best moves
rather than try for random guesses at what he might do.
He has to make a guess. Let's do what we want and hope
that he guesses wrong.
What this best thing to do is the question. I think that
we want to get England positions to get an army or two
into Germany next year. Russia can be compensated with
St. Petes or something else. This will allow England
somewhere to expand rather than being cut off from the
front by France and Russia. He can participate in the
battle for Austria. So the move to the Bight might be
best for that. However, It is really up to the two of
you.
My orders will be Ruhr to Munich supported by Burgundy.
With Pru -> Ber and War -> Sil, Germany will lose all his
home centers.

The 1907 Symposium on Philosophy, Europe and Everything
will be postponed until Winter. In fact, we will be
moving the symposia permanently to that time of year.
Bascially we are struggling to find a commentator with
all the sporting events going on right now (Football,
Basketball, Hockey, Baseball).

It appears to me that Nwy-Swe & Nth-Den will bounce Germany out of one of
those provinces while giving me the other. Your alternative, Nth-Hel &
Edi-Nth, permits Germany to have either Denmark or Sweden, whichever he
chooses. One way you and I split Denmark and Sweden, the other way you and
Germany split them. Isn't the choice clear? Logic and my self-interest
seem to coincide here. If there were a way for you to keep both, that
would be another matter. What am I missing?

Nick,
It's late (for me) and I have to get to bed, but I want us to be thinking
about the future.
Will the provinces that you and I own at the end of the year be relatively
permanent? Except for StP -- that's understood.
What should I do? Must I go to war with you or France? The prospect
doesn't thrill me. Taking out Germany was easy and fun, but I don't know
what is next.
I've been fearful that France would in fact attack me so that I wouldn't
have to make any decision. This still might happen. At least I don't
think he can build three units this year, because Piedmont cannot cut
Tyrolia and go for Venice at the same time.
France wonders if I will attack you next year. What is he saying to you?
Anything? Nothing?
For what it is worth, Italy and Turkey are dead silent. I wish I adjoined
one of them.

My concern is that Germany will, for one reason or another, anticipate our
moves, and decide to extract his last revenge upon me by ordering Sil-Boh,
Ska-Nwy. This would result in War remaining German, Nwy becoming
German, Swe and Den becoming English, and Kie and Ber becoming Russian.
Germany would hang on at two Centers, England and France would grow to
eight, while I would once again have three. I'm willing to risk Sil-Boh,
War-Sil for the sake of France taking Mun, but I'd rather risk having
Germany
take one Scandinavian Center, and me building one, than England taking both,
and me remaining at three. Does this make sense?
Your Friend,
Nick.

Nick:
I understand your concern. You have suffered much and
you deserve a build.
I do appreciate your willinginess to attack Silesia. It
certainly helps you take Berlin, but it also helps me
take Munich. I thank you for that help.
I do not see Germany moving to Bohemia. That seems very
unlikely. But I do see what it would be bad for you.
That fleet in the Skageraak is annoying in that it can
cause so much trouble. I will let you and England
discuss the options. My opinions would probably just
appear to be budding in. If you need the insight of the
Dauphin, let us know. He had been bored lately and would
relish the attention. Else, we both wish you two good
guessing.
I could ask Germany what he plans to do, but I am sure he
will repeat and answer he told me before:
"And I should tell you, why?"

Yes, the small risk of not regaining War is worth
guaranteeing Mun and Ber.
>I do not see Germany moving to Bohemia. That seems unlikely. But I do see

Germany is in a desperate situation. He has to expect
attacks on Ber and Mun, and Sil-Boh is the only way to
avoid losing War, Ber and Mun that I can see. Granted
the Army in Boh will do him little good next year, but
at this point I think he is as likely to try to cause
me grief as he is to give up.

I would welcome the Dauphin's (theoretically)
disinterested opinion.
