Now that's some good detective work! :-)

Ali:
Thanks for the explanation. I will look at my
registration.
I have honestly never notices this difference between the
time zones. The funny thing is that some of my messages
had a Wednesday deadline and some had a Thursday. Just
the last six were sent from a particalur computer at
work. I do not understand what is going on. I will have
to simply look more carefully.
Xavier (Prince Boar)
PS: Congrats on your success.
Message from France to England
OK Ivy, I am dying to know. What was the set of orders
that would have guaranteed you a build. I have not found
them. But now that it does not matter, could you show
them to me?
Thanks,
Le DAUPHIN
PS: You are actually the master diplomat, not me. I
could not convince Italy to do what I wanted, just as you
had trouble with Germany. Perhaps we have the wrong
allies :-)
Message from France to Germany
If I would have know you were leaving Burgundy, I would
not have ordered Gascony there. I was merely trying to
break support for Bel -> Pic. I wanted to stay in
Gascony. The funny thing is that I almost ordered Pic to
Burgundy too, just in case you moved. But I worried that
you might move to Mar or Par so I thought I might have to
be in Burguny.
As your old uncle leo always used to say:
Now what?

Sorry again for being late. I have never ran across this
deadline issue where it lists the next day. Looking back
at more of my messages, some did say Wednesday, but those
were sent from a different PC. The last six had
Thursday, from one particular PC. I really do not
understand why I am getting different listings. But I
will have to pay more careful attention to the times in
addition to the dates. I will check my registration, but
that should not have changed based on the PC? I will
look into that too.
This was my first time being late this game, and
hopefully my last. I usually use set wait, but this time
I had no idea what my default orders were even going to
be.
My retreat is in.
My apologies,
France

Roberto:
Thanks for the support to Spain. It was not what I
wanted, but good manners requires that I at least thank
you for it. :-)
I guess things worked out for the best, although I would
have liked to be in the Mid-Atlantic. I suppose that
you would not consider support for a move to MAO this
season? :-) Would you consider attacking it just to
break support if I felt that was useful? I have yet to
look at a map, so I do not yet have a plan.
If I asked you to support me to Munich you would probably
choke and cough, right? :-) It would be nice to have
some sucess .... :-)

Roberto,
Well, things didn't go too badly, though not as well as I'd have liked. In
retrospect, your plan was the better one. I think you're still safe to move
Ion-Tun this turn, since we should have no trouble eliminating Austria. And
whatever happens, Tri is happily able to do anything it likes.
What are your thoughts on how to finish Austria? If we give Russia a center,
the most likely combination seems to be along the lines of Vie S Ser-Bud,
Tri-Ser, Bul-Ser, Bla S Sev-Rum, Arm-Smy, Con-Smy, Ukr-Sev. However, I'm not
sure that Russia would move Ukr-Sev, nor that it would be in his best
interests to do so.
The only alternative is for one of us to pick up two builds this year, but I'm
not entirely comfortable with that either. I had hoped we could continue our
one-build-apiece tradition for the sake of stability.
What are your thoughts?
Ali

When will I ever learn to proofread these things before I send them, instead
of after?
> whatever happens, Tri is happily able to do anything it likes.
I meant, Tyr, not Tri. Lots of interesting possibilities for Tyr, as there
almost always is, but lots of freedom as well.

Prince Boar,
Interesting move. The German withdrawal from France must have been welcome.
Did you know it was coming? Good work, by the way, you've done an excellent
job of keeping the wolves at bay.
One note of explanation regarding my moves: my attack on Sev was made not only
with Russia's blessing, but at his invitation. I moved exactly as he
requested, and he moved as he said he would. Thank you for your press to him,
I owe you one.
Regards,
Ali

Congrats! Looks like you won't be losing a center this year AND you can
re-gain the MAO. Good job!

Tyrolia will be exiting post-haste (and not to Munich as Russia has
suggested).
Roberto

Uh-oh! Did you lose your German friend? Looks from here like he expected
you to stab him.
Roberto

The judge appears to be down again so this may be out of date by the time
you get it.
I'm pleased. Just a quick glance at the results but Germany's move
surprised me. Looks to me like he expected an English stab.
Also looks like the two of us can take all of Austria this turn if we want.
We'll have to think long and hard about how much we care about Russia
keeping a center.
More later after I take a close look at the map (and the judge wakes up).
Life is Beautiful,

Prince Boar,
>Interesting move.
Indeed
>The German withdrawal from France must have
>been welcome.
Very Welcome. I am surprised to be in Burgundy. I do
not know if I wish to be there, but there I am.
>Did you know it was coming?
Not in the least. I knew Germany was going to do
something to defend against England, but I expect it to
be very little. I thought that he would use Army Ruhr
for defense and Army Burgundy to help England. If
Germany had ordered Bur to Par I would have lost my army
in Picardy and then lost Brest in the fall. Ivy will be
frustrated upon his return.
>Good work, by the way, you've done an excellent
>job of keeping the wolves at bay.
A little bit of good luck (see above) mixed in with my
bad luck :-) I am surprised and happy to still be alive.
>One note of explanation regarding my moves:
Thanks for telling me. I was wondering, but figured
that Russia wanted to nuke that Austrian army.
>Thank you for your press to him,
>I owe you one.
That is now two you owe me for. :-)
Can you find me a supply center somewhere? I have to get
units dislodge to artificially get builds. :-)
At least I can guarantee denying England a build, if I am
completely conservative. If I get a little bolder Italy
could betray me and help England get a build. Let me
know what your hear.
But it looks like Germany will get one more (StP) Are
you going to allow Russia to take Sev?
Do you find working with Roberto to be frustrating? I
sure wish that you and I were neighbors.

Fredd:
Looking again at the results I noticed that F MAO did not
support F Nth -> Eng. I wonder why? Did he not want to
leave Nth? I would have broken the support, but he did
not even try it.

Ms. Felicia:
I am sorry that things did not work out better for you.
It looks like you still have a guessing game near the
Aegean. Perhaps you need to throw yourself at the mercy
of Italy or Turkey and hope one would turn on the other.
I am guessing that you might have better luck with
Turkey, but you will certainly have a better feel for the
situation.
Good luck.

Message from France to Russia
Czar Nicholas:
Congratulations on getting rid of that Austrian army.
Are you going to try and talk Turkey into giving you
Sevastopol. I suppose that would require Italy allowing
him Budapest. Do you sense any cracks in the IT
alliance?
I survived by a bit of luck. Had Germany ordered Bur ->
Par I would have lost the army in Picardy and lost Brest
in the fall. I really doubted that Germany would make
the order, figuring he would do something else. I never
ever expected him to leave France. I guess I should be
celebrating!
I am not out of the woods yet, but things look a little
better. That just probably means I am in store for a
real bad thing to happen :-_
