Message from Germany to Russia
Hey Eric things are looking up. EF fighting was always the way to go. I
wouldnt trust ben to much. I say mos - lvn, sev - mos, rum - bla supported
by arm, rum - bul supported by ser, tyr s ven. Stab Italy in the fall and
grab TRI from SER. This should net you ank & tri.

Tony,
Thanks for the info. I'm hoping Erik doesn't just throw in the towel.
Bul-Bla, Rum-Bul, huh? That's not bad. The danger there is that Turkey may
support France to Gre, in which case I wouldn't take any dots (unless I
moved Tyl-Tri). I'll look that over as an idea.
Why do you think Sev should go north instead of south? What is it you think
Ben might do?

Tony,
It's a bad sign when I reply to my own press!

Don't mind me, I'm not paying close attention -- that wasn't your suggestion!

If I leave Sev in the south that gives me an extra unit to play with. The
problem of taking Ank with a fleet is that it'll make it hard to get to Smy
down the line. Something like Sev-Bla-Ank, Arm S Sev-Ank puts me in better
position: Bul-Con, Rum-Bul next Spring, then Ank S Con-Smy and Turkey's
gone and I'm in the corner with fleets on the eastern Med. As long as Italy
is holding back France, I don't know if I want to attack him. But if France
is going to fall to England, then taking Italy's dots now and France's
later may make a lot of sense.
I'm still waiting to hear what Erik wants to do, which will affect my
planning.
Let me know if you have any other ideas!

The reason for moving SEV north would be to cover the event that Ben pushes
BAL - BOT, swe - fin, nwy - bar and ska - nwy. Even then he can still take
STP. No doubt he will convoy to LVN instead. Either way STP is lost in the
near future. In the south you could opt for bul - bla supported by ARM and
convoy sev in the fall to ANK. Maybe best consider STP lost and get MOS into
play. I think it is safe to assume France will not attack you anywhere.
Maybe rightshift units into PRU/SIL/MUN. Maybe mos - lvn supported by STP.
Stabbing Italy in TRI in the fall is definitely worth considering if Erik is
retreating to fight Ben.

Tony,
>Maybe mos - lvn supported by STP.
I was thinking that, or maybe Mos-Lvn/StP-Lvn. FWIW, I do consider StP
lost, it's just a matter of when.
The shift to Mun/Sil/Pru is a good idea now that I can protect Lvn,
especially if Erik doesn't shoot for Mun. I am worried about Ben convoying
into Lvn, but I think it might be premature for him to do that at this
point. That's partly why I attacked Ber and didn't try to take a better
position last season. The other reasons being that I had far too many
centers dedicated to that one damned fleet in Bla, but I didn't think I
could afford to lose Sev. The center is no big deal, but not being able to
build fleets for 4 seasons would have been unbearable.
