Message from England to Russia
Nick,
I knew I was safe from England this turn, but I had absolutely no idea what
you were going to do. My moves were designed to try to keep us as even as
possible, whether you retreated to Finland and Sweden or tried for Norway
and Denmark and Berlin.
I had no idea that Italy was going to do what he did. I only got one
message from Italy since before Christmas, and he did not divulge what he
was going to do. I repeatedly urged Italy (and you) to destroy Rumania. I
guess Italy was pretty upset with the prospect of losing Sevastopol,
Rumania, and Budapest to you, although Roger may have gotten to him as
well.
All along I intended to build a fleet in Liverpool to restore the Atlantic
front if I got a build, and that is what I will do.
I don't see the solo yet. Your six southern armies are very powerful, and
Rumania will be lost next time for sure.

Message from England to Italy
Roberto,
I think you will be candid with me as I ask:
Were your moves intended to help France win?
Were they simply anti-Russia no matter what the consequences?
Were you fearful that Russia actually had winning chances?
Or what?

You knew what Roger was going to do, but not me???
Pardon me while I curse a blue streak, and don't
type for a while.
WHAT PART OF, "If I stab you, France Solos." DIDN'T
YOU UNDERSTAND?!?!?!? I may not be as good as you
or Roger, or Ken, but I'm not a damned idiot! I
laid it out to you again and again, how could you
not understand?
>I guess Italy was pretty upset with the prospect

I offered to move Bud-Ser, and Sev-Arm, or to
consider any alternative he came up with. It's not
my fault he waited until 12 hours before the
deadline to start negotiating.
>I will build a fleet in Liverpool
Great. I'll ponder my disband.
>I don't see the solo yet.
Con-Ank, Bla & Arm S Rum-Sev, or Vie & Tri S Rum-Bud,
Pie-Tyl next Spring, and Tri S Tyl-Vie in the Fall. If
I'm lucky, I'll hold him at 17, but it seems doubtful.
Eric.
