Message from France to England and Italy
Gents:
So, to wrap this up, I need to successfully move a fleet into
Marseilles. There's always a chance that Bur S Lyo - Mar will succeed,
but I predict a support cut from Mun.
Therefore, this is my proposal:
Fall:
Lyo - Mar
Bur S Lyo - Mar (just in case)
Wes - Spa
Tys - Wes
Tun S F Rom - Tys
F Rom - Tys
Spring:
Spa - Mar
Lyo S Spa - Mar
This more or less guarantees that I occupy Mar in Spring, barring some
major change in force alignment. Andy, you're going to lose Rome no
matter what, so you might as well put it to use securing the southern
stalemate. I suspect he'll order Ion - Tys with support from Nap, so
with my support from Tunis, you can keep it empty. As long as Tys
remains empty this turn, then Spa - Mar will succeed with support from
Lyo (which can't be broken at that point). If Russia gets into Tys this
turn, we have considerably tougher odds.
Thoughts?

Not a problem. Its a solid plan.

So close yet so far ;-)
Message from France to Italy
Reminder: I need you to move from Rom - Tys. If you're no longer interested
in that plan for whatever reason, please let me know why; it's the only
logical move I can think of to keep us all in the game.
I think support for Ber is set for the indefinite future.

I already have the orders in....not a problem moving ROM - TYS
Thanks

Message from Russia to England
Apologies -- I was slow to get orders in this turn. Got buried. I will do
better in the future, which hopefully won't last too long.
I'm going to work on taking out the rest of Italy, then I'll back off in the
north and see if you are willing to take out Andy. Unless you and Erik do
something silly it should be straightforward. :)

Erik,
You said you were going to get back to me with what you need to see Andy
removed. In the intervening silence, I've been doing my best to remove his
last centers. If you just leave him undefended, I'll take out the rest of
Italy, and then I'll back off of Mun and we can remove him. If you need it, I
can agree to backing out of Italy and giving up some of those centers once
Andy's removed (from Italy, not from the game altogether).

Message from Russia to Russia
Apologies to the observers for slowing things down this turn and still
pushing in what is in all likelihood a hopeless position. But as long as Erik
is doing things like convoying out of Mar, and while the moves show a lack of
coordination between EFI, it seems silly to just give up.
Ironically, I'd probably set draw right now (for the same reason as Ben -- to
stop dragging out the likely inevitable) if EF would just give me a clear,
coordinated signal that they are not going to try to winnow Andy and that
they are going to just sit and be defensive. But Ben's broadcast not
withstanding, doesn't his press leave it pretty open for me to assume he
might be willing to consider whittling Andy? And Erik's press indicates that
he'd be open to it and will discuss it with Ben.
As always, the primary reason I'm interested in seeing Andy whittled is
because he might still decide to move BER. Sure I wouldn't mind the extra
nicety of a three way rather than a four way, but if I really *just* wanted
to whittle Andy, obviously I wouldn't still be holding Mun.
I've entered moves that risk me losing lots of ground, though not much in the
way of centers. If EFI coordinate to eliminate my units, I'll be knocked back
pretty well. But I don't think it's in Andy's best interest to do that.
We'll see soon.
I hope that's not me that's late. While I did forget to enter orders until
just prior to the deadline, I have the move confirmations in my inbox.

Yeah, it's unlikely, but if Erik keeps convoying units out of the way, maybe
I'll get lucky. :)

I figured. I'm pretty sure what I'll do - no harm in you finding out for yourself.
