F Sev & A War are really your best build. Depending on how things
played out, it might even be possible to retain Trieste.

Thanks. Without knowing that England was ok with an alliance with
you, it was hard to suggest appropriate moves for the north of course.

I am building an army & attacking Russia in the north.
My move combination was the only one I saw that permitted me to hold KIE, HOL, and another center, in this case, BER, which will allow me to build and close off Russia in the north.
Yes I took advantage of Russian supports.
But I am no fool, I know it is time to Stop The Leader.

It was and I know it hurt. I would have hope to see you take
Greece to compensate the loss; but it was your call to make.

My problem is that while I'm being squeeze between I & R,
you always seem to put more faith in one or the other instead
of in me. I trust you from time to time, but I don't trust Andy,
so I suggest we forget about helping IT and talk helping you
where we can.

didn't really see a choice: I needed to get some builds to ward off Jason.
I can lose centers in the north to you, or I can lose centers in the south
to him, but I couldn't afford to lose centers in both places, because then
neither area would be defensible.
Yes, Den being yours is easy to agree to, especially given that there's
nothing I could do to stop you anyway. :)
So how would you like to go about accomplishing getting Den to you?

Hey Jason,
I'm not sure how thrilling it will be for the observers to watch us mud
wrestle on the shores of the Bla, but I appreciate your enthusiasm. :)
I'm not expecting to sway you now, but it looks to me like us fighting is
likely to lead to Italy removing you at some point. I'm happy to work out
an arrangement that keeps you from being eliminated if you ever start
feeling your head on the chopping block. Just keep that in mind as we go
forward.

Yes indeed. The irony is that I'm only through the 3rd quarter of the game
on the Tivo, so I think you just told me the ending. (Not a problem, just
funny). Panthers are the much better choice to me, but it's still not like
I have much of an investment in them, so much as against the Pats.

Well, that was a fantastic result on the moves, given that I could easily
have gone down five centers (Bur S Mun, England takes Den, Bul S Ser,
Gal-War, Bla-Sev). I knew it was a possibility to get two builds, but I
certainly never counted on it.
Now that I've got those two centers, I can deal with an StL alliance for a
while: at least I will have a defensible southern front, and if I take Ber
(hopefully keeping the fleet from Den in play) it means that my northern
defenses are self-supporting (three units, three centers) which is
important. The StL looks like it should be pretty unstable, as EF, FI and
IT should all have misgivings about getting whittled, so I may just have to
hope that someone to breaks away.
I finally started counting centers (yes it took me this long to start).
From where I am, Turkey and the Balkans gets a solo. That would require
active assistance from Erik to hold Scandinavia, which seems unlikely.
Alternately, there's losing Sca, gaining Ber (and maybe Kie) and taking
Turkey and Italy. Again, it requires help in some form from Erik, but not
immediately, so that's more likely. Either way he could be the key, which
means that perhaps it was a mistake to not support him to Mun. Certainly
looks like I could be chastised for that choice.

Hey Erik, (and I'm the one guy in this game that should consistently spell
that correctly!)
I haven't heard from you, which I expect means that there's a
stop-the-leader forming. Not that I blame anyone for that -- those last
moves did ask for it. I had hoped to be able to keep your friendship, but I
didn't want to risk leaving Tony's army alive in Mun if you didn't move
there (that is, I didn't want to order support for Bur-Mun without knowing
you were actually ordering Bur-Mun).
From where I sit, I'm likely to lose dots in Scandinavia, which will lead
to England getting lots of builds, and Turkey is going to have to turn his
back on Italy. That's likely to lead to you getting stuck between E and I.
As I said, I assume your silence means that you have joined a StL alliance,
so won't expect to cooperate now. But that said, keep in mind that I'm
happy to work with you if you start feeling squeezed by your neighbors.
Hol, Kie, Den, mainland England, and possibly more of Scandinavia are all
centers that I can offer up as part of cooperating.
Not trying to convince you now, just want you to keep it in mind for when
it becomes relevant.

Sounds like we've got an StL going. Not a surprise. I guess we'll need to
see how the builds go before talking too much strategy, but I'll be
surprised if Turkey doesn't disband EMS. Still, the choice to disband Ser
makes me wonder about his thinking.

Yawning for the passage of time; no reflection on the brilliance of your

I figured. The games this weekend were a downer, but exactly as I
expected. Carolina was the anti-Philly, and the Colts offense had grown
fat and lazy beating up the junior varsity defenses. . .
I have no big rooting interest. My guess is Carolina will win the Super
Bowl, though the peculiar Patriots offense may be the antidote for the
Carolina defense - that will be an interesting matchup. If Brady's uniform
is still clean(ish) at halftime, Pats win.
