Message from Austria to Master
I am attacking Italy as before
Message from England to Master
This game will be a reminder to me of why I like to play aggressively in
no-press even if I get burned a lot. The extra center last year would have
changed the entire situation. That is the past though. In the present, I
went and forgot one of my own rules of no-press - it is much more likely in
no-press than it is in press that a player will value a single center over
a long-term alliance. The Liverpool center was pretty much a freebie for
France and it was worth it to him to give up on an alliance or hope that
Germany and I will be inextricably at war. That covers the past and the
present. The future isn't fun to look at.
I'll be withdrawing from my front with Germany. He seems to be a good
player and I am hoping that he will see that if he attacks me, France gets
the gains - just as he was playing it that if I attacked him, France would
get the gains. The only good thing about the upcoming move is that
France's moves are locked in which means I can at least take the
Channel. The bad news is that there is going to be an army in Liverpool,
but there is nothing I can do about that.
On the rest of the board, Russia and Turkey look like they are about to go
nuclear which is about the only way Italy's opening strategy can bear
fruit. Turkey attacked Serbia while Russia maneuvered to get control of
the Black Sea (I assume we'll see bla-ank, arm-bla next turn). Hopefully,
Russia will pick up his northern fleet, but either way, he can't be happy
with his position. Even if gets the Black Sea, it will only be for one
turn. It could be even worse than that as it is possible that a combined
attack on bud/rum could cost him another center. Italy has had everything
come up seven's giving him a decent position even after his weak start.
Right now, I'd say Turkey has the best position followed by France. My
position is better than Austria's. For now. I'll try to hang on and hope
things change once again.

Well it worked like a charm. Even better, Germany moved out of Ruhr,
which means I can guarantee to hold Bel and Bur this year. My moves are
obvious, convoy to Lvp, and support Bel, with token supports to Germany in
Hol and Mun
Now I just have to hope that Germany doesn't do to me what I just did to
England :-)
I thought I'd write with a bit more commentary on the rest of the board.
Italy's no-fleet strategy is great for me as France. His moves this past
year left Austria a great move, but Austria failed to take advantage of
it. If I had been Austria, I'd have moved Adr-Apu. Coupled with Italy's
moves, that would have left Austria next to an open Naples. And then
Tunis, etc.
The east looks to be R/T now fighting each toehr, which is also good for
me. The plan is to dispatch England, then roll into Germany, maybe just
after I take Tunis. I plan to take Tunis in the mid-game, before it
becomes "important". Then all I have to do is take Mun/Ber, mop up, and I
should solo. If only it were that easy...
Message from Germany to Master
Things are only slightly less desperate, although France's decision to stand on the defensive, and Russia's decision to move into Gal, certainly have brought about some improvement.
The new dilemma of course results from the fact that England can stage a supported attack on Hol, or an attack with two supports against Den -- and I can't cover both. The only question is whether England will indeed throw himself against Den with 2 supports, or whether the French threat will distract him. I can't do anything to control or predict -- and can't be sure of saving Den unless I sacrifice Hol. It's a pure guess at this point -- and I'm guessing that he will try for Den rather than Hol.
Message from Italy to Master
Not much to say here. As expected Turkey has attacked
Russia which means I will most surely keep Tri.
I'll adopt a neutral position for the time being in
the conflict between RT, which promises to be a long
one.
Message from Russia to Master
Yes, the circle is still going. Germany might not be
interested in playing that game anymore, wich
would be real bad for England as he's ill prepare
for a two on one; but with more armies then fleets
and a strong France as a neighbours, I'm not so
sure Germany can afford to join an attack on
England. France is probably still Germany's
primary target.
My prediction is that England & Germany will stop
fighting, but that they won't attack France yet.
England can't as he's forced to defend himself, while
Germany will probably be warry of England for a
while. One things is sure, I will stop going for
Sweden and protect Stp instead. I'm not about to
make things easy for France.
Meanwhile in the east,
Austria had his fun with Italy and is now out of the
picture, while Italy & Turkey have taken Trieste &
Serbia as planned. On a positive note, I like how
Turkey has done it ;-) By surrendering Serbia now,
I will be able to signal Turkey this fall. If he doesn't
care for my suggestion, I will spend the rest of the
game defending myself from him with my armies.
