Message from England to Master
I'm shocked to see Italy build yet another army. I'm sure Turkey is quite
happy about it though. And that Russia is satisfied with Turkey's
build. Russia signalled last move that he was still willing to play the RT
and Turkey seems to have taken him up on it. Bad news for Italy.
My interesting problem has to do with Sweden. I don't want to bother
defending it, but stp-fin could leave me without a retreat. There are a
lot of options, but I think I'll try nwy-stp. If Russia plays stp-fin, I
get in and nwy is available for a retreat. If not, fin is available for
retreat. The other main option is nth-ska with support from nwy for either
that or eng-nth, but Sweden could be destroyed. I expect Germany to try
either den-nth or an attack on Sweden. If he really trusts France, he
could play den-ska, kie-den. Another option is to try all out for stp
(nwy-bar) or den (nwy-ska, nth-hel). I could even try swe-den with support
from nth, but I don't think it would work.
I'm not really playing with any plan except the vague one of dominating
Scandinavia and waiting for a chance. At best, I could stay on four, but
for that to happen, I'll have to get pretty lucky. Three may still be
viable, two would probably not be.

F Wales? Wow, I was not counting on that one. I was expecting probably A
Swe or maybe F Nwy, in the attempt to try and screw me over as much as
possible. I think that it's very possible that I will take London this
year, which is good.
I plan to support myself to Eng while moving to Wal and Yor. He can keep
me out of Eng if he supports from Nth, but to do so would risk Lvp-Edi, so
I think it's unlikely. Even though I'm not actually ordering Lvp-Edi, if
he supports Eng my moves to Yor and Wal will succeed, which means it's
still a decent shot that I will pick up an additional English center.
I am willing in theory to give (loan?) Belgium to Germany at some point.
One of the beauties of no-press games though is that he doesn't really
have a very effective way to demand it. If this were a press game, he
would be demanding that I give him Belgium to even us up in centers (we're
now at 7/5) and I'd probably be forced to agree. But in no-press, I plan
to hold it as long as I can, if not forever.
In truth, I have no desire to ally with Germany. The plan, if all goes
well (i.e. Germany doesn't overtly attack me) will have Germany next on
the menu after England.

The greatest threat is now posed by A War -- want to keep it out of Sil and Pru. I'd guess that Russia will try A War-Sil, if only to get some advantage against Austria. It doesn't seem too likely that he would try A War-Pru since that doesn't really lead anywhere. So I won't move F BAL-Pru, not because I have any real concern about needing F BAL to support Den, but simply because if I do move to Pru and succeed (as is likely) I will be even more badly out of position in the fall. While I would like
to be doing something more aggressive, my sense at the moment is that it would be best to move conservatively and wait for the E/F and R/A /I conflicts to play themselves out -- if I can get an army into Den in the fall, I may just be able to pick up Swe thereafter.

I'm surprised by the Turkish build. Perhaps Russia's
hint to him was not a late one after all... Or was it
just a preventive measure in case I build a fleet
myself...?
It seems it is time for plan B: let's attack the
yellow pieces!

I think England just committed suicide. He's trying to maintain
a strong stance toward Germany while defending himself from
France. Why bother? It's not Germany who's going to kill him.
Also, if the army was kept to be convoyed back, why not
disband Nwy?
The other strange case is Italy. Even if Turkey had not built a
fleet, he would still be at risk from 2 turkish fleets to his lone
one; and I'm not even taking France into account here. From
my point of view, he's doing everything to throw the game to
France by going after the only one able to go after him at the
moment, Germany. Italy isn't strong enough to go after Turkey
and if he's successfull against me, he will get into conflict with
Turkey anyway for having surrounded him. Since there's no
way to invade France with armies through Pie, the only "valid"
target remaining is Germany; but am I to assume Italy's plan
all along was to become the only central power? Why on
earth would someone wish to be in that position for the
mid-game?
Anyway, I will pursue peace with Turkey and hope he goes
after Italy in strength, possibly bypassing him to go after
France. At the same time, I will send War to Sil to block Italy
and assist Germany; but I doubt Germany will see it that way.
