Message from England to Master
Ugh. Why did Germany retreat to Baltic? Did he think I was going to
declare vendetta if he went to Sweden? For that matter, why is Russia
vulturing a center from Italy? The only sensible thing I can come up with
is that he wants Italy to dislodge him so he can disband and build another
northern fleet. That's asking a lot for no-press. Besides, I don't think
Italy can afford it, so the only chance is if a THIRD country comes in on
it and Turkey orders ser s tri-bud. I'm not holding my breath though. If
Russia has some fantasy of this ending in an FRT, I'd have to wonder what
he's been smoking and if I can have any.
Anyway, to the business at hand. Sure wish Germany had retreated to
Sweden. I'll play it straight one more time and try supporting Russia into
NRG while bumping the North Sea. If the simplest explanation is correct
(as it usually is in no-press) and Russia really is vulturing a center from
Italy, there is no harm done. Italy can toss the game to France readily
enough. Not much hope of stopping France even if Italy doesn't try to toss it.

>The French Army in Tyrolia with no valid retreats was destroyed.
Those poor, poor, Tyrolean soldiers... I will make sure that their
families are taken care of...
Glad to see the convoy to Denmark worked. Too bad I didn't try that last
fall... Germany had an interesting retreat option (Bal or Swe), and
neither option was really ideal. Retreat to Sweden and you risk staying
in Sweden in the fall and making England remove. But retreat to Bal and
you essentially force England to cover Sweden.
Looked at the map for awhile, and I think that I've figured out a set of
moves.
I will support Pie-Tus with F Lyo, and hope to be able to build A Mar to
fill in Piedmont next spring. F Tys will gamble that Italy is going to
try a self standoff and offer unwanted support to Apu-Rom. I don't think
that I/T will be able to coordinate on an attack on Tys, not least because
F Aeg needs to support Ion to ensure I don't take the Ion.
In the north, I am going to gamble on losing the North Sea. I'm going to
hope that England moves Ska-Swe. My initial thought was to move Nth-Nwg
to try and slow down the advance of the Russian fleet. But then I figured
if Ska-Swe, then maybe Nwy will support Bar-Nwg. Of course it may give a
token cut to Nth. But I need Nth to move to Holland because I'm going to
take a shot at Kiel. I am going to move Hel-Kie with support because I
need to get a fleet into Kiel ASAP. I'm also risking Mun with Mun-Ber to
cut support. I think that it's unlikely that they'll be able to
coordinate a tri-partite attack on Munich, and I am afraid someone will
cut Mun's support. There's always a slim chance I can forward retreat to
Bohemia (likely that will be filled though but maybe not).
Russia's northern fleet is surely going to be a pest to me aroudn Edi and
Lvp and maybe Mao, but I think that (hopefully sooner rather than
later) he's going to wish he had that unit defending Russia proper.
Interesting moves in the south too - hopefully I can count on some
confusion there due to the no-press nature of this game. Again I give
full credit to Turkey, he is playing this game excellently.
The line it looks like they'll have to form (Aeg S Ion, Apu S Ven, Nap S
Rom, Tri S Tyl, Boh H, Sil, Pru S Ber, War, Mos S Lvn) takes 15 units, and
they currently have 5 units (the 4 turkish armies and the russian fleet)
that are out of position. Since the fleet can't hold anything on the line
(except Ber or Lvn which seem unlikely), they need to get those 3 Turkish
armies into position. In fact, Turkey is already moving to that effect
and used a convoy last turn to signal his intentions. But one problem
that they might run into is that the Turksih armies need to be the ones in
places like Pru and Sil, because Russian armies have to control Mos/War.
Guess we'll see how it shakes out...
Message from Germany to Master
It seems inevitable that I will be eliminated this season, but I may as well try to retake Den.
Message from Italy to Master
What is Russia thinking of? If I'm gone the game is
lost to France...
Message from Russia to Master
I think France made a mistake by using Wes in the south, but I
will have to wait a bit to see if it's really the case. On the other
hand, he got lucky on two points. First, Germany didn't support
Ska-Nth from Den. Second, Italy didn't blocked Mar-Pie,
opting to eliminate Tyr himself instead of relying on the armies
hanging in the Balkans doing nothing.
Talking of those armies, I'm not sure I like the idea of Turkey
moving Con to Gal like he indicated. Hopefully, he won't start
moving in my direction this fall and I will be able to build a fleet
in Stp, south coast this time.
This fall, I expect the following from France:
-A Ruhr - Holland
-A Burgundy Supports A Munich
-A Denmark - Kiel
-F Helgoland Bight Supports A Denmark - Kiel
-F North Sea - Denmark
-F English Channel - North Sea
-A Munich Supports A Piedmont - Tyrolia
-A Piedmont - Tyrolia
-F Gulf of Lyon - Tuscany
-F Tyrrhenian Sea Supports F Gulf of Lyon - Tuscany
-F Tunis Supports F Tyrrhenian Sea
In case I'm mistaken, I would appreciate getting supported
by England in Nwg from Nwy.

Interesting if BAR makes it to NWG. I will just be holding all for now. I
